Actor Jessica Ruth Freedman is playing the role of the Rabbi on Animal Control.

Jessica Ruth Freedman is a Canadian actor, visual artist, and writer based on Vancouver Island. In University, Jessica trained as a contemporary dancer and choreographer, and participated in dance festivals and in short films as an independent dance artist. After retiring as a dancer, she worked in finance and logistics for natural resource companies and non-profit organizations. Missing creativity, Jessica once again retired to live the creative life full-time.

Jessica’s paintings have been exhibited in galleries and art fairs internationally, and are in private collections worldwide. In 2022, Jessica was honored to have her work included in the Jewish Museum and Archives of British Columbia. Jessica gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts

As an actor, Jessica has appeared on network TV and in feature films. Her experience also includes voice-over for film and animation. Jessica is fluent in Hebrew and French.
